Final Stand No.4 - The Depressed Inventor

"Cheers!" Rex exclaimed while they were celebrating his new chapter in life with his friends. Despite being a ex-murderer, he still possessed tons of charisma and he fell in love with a beautiful woman, Serene. It was pressuring at first, having to cope with the company and his new found love, but he eventually managed to cope with it. Nate and Rex were okay with taking more responsibility in company and Serene accepted the fact that Rex needed to take initiative in the gaming company. Through Red's celebration, Serene's ex, Owen was crying his heart out. "Why is the world so cruel! I'm better than that murderer!" Owen said, his face smeared with tears. "I'll get him back for this!" He said wiping the tears of his face.

Being in a state of depression, he started plotting to get back at Rex. When Rex was walking home half asleep, he saw someone in a black hoodie, he jolted awake and gave chase. When he caught up with the guy with a black hood, he saw that the man under the hood was, Nate! "Why are you here!" Rex asked feeling shocked, without a word 'Nate' shot Rex and left him struggling in the darkness of the night. The next day Rex went to confront Nate, "Where were you last night?" Rex asked. "I was at home watching television. Did you watch the amazing thriller of a soccer game, Liverpool against Norwich? It was amazing!" Nate told Rex describing the exciting match. "Stop lying, I'm no longer mad." Rex said. "Mad over what?" Nate asked without a clue what had happened. Rex snapped and shouted, "You know what you did, you shot me and walked away! You know how much that hurts!?" "I have no..." Nate said before being cut off. "Don't do it again!" Rex yelled in a much irritated manner. Later that day, Rex was again walking home when he met with 'Nate' again, this time when he was shot, he realized instead of  'Nate's' gauntlet shooting a energy blast, a light was projected and a bullet was shot. "Get back here!" Rex shouted while chasing 'Nate' but he was not able to catch up. "Weird, I swear Nate's gauntlet shoots energy blasts and he is so much is slower than me! Perhaps that was not him." Rex said to himself, deep in thought...

When Rex arrived at the office, he found Nate in the meeting room. "Nate, I..." Rex said before being Nate stopped him. "When walking home I saw you! Alike what you said about me yesterday, you shot me!" "I think we aren't the ones hurting each other, I saw a fake you yesterday, when 'you' shot me, I realized what came out of 'your' gauntlet wasn't a energy ball but a bullet!" Rex told Nate. "What are you guys talking about?" Ryan said in a curious tone. "We saw fake versions of each other, and I think I know who could have made them." Rex answered Ryan while starting up his computer. "Owen Hilton, Serene's ex, inventor and made a few inventions that rocked the world, including this clone machine." Rex said scrolling down Owen's online biography. "Why would he do this then?" Ryan asked. "Oh that's an easy question, ever since he and Serene broke up, he was living in a world of grievance and hatred and has been plotting revenge." Rex said. "How do you know about this, he couldn't have told you?" Ryan asked. "Well obviously he didn't, he called Serene and asked her to get back together with him in a tone that sounded like he had filled an entire ocean with his tears." Rex told Ryan. "What are we waiting for, let's go!" Nate exclaimed.

When they went to find Owen, they spotted a fake Nate. "Follow him!" Rex told the others, the fake Nate to Owen's location. When they entered the warehouse, they were greeted by the sight of droids. "Attack!" the trio heard the voice say. Upon hearing that, the droids started chasing the trio. Nate shot a energy ball at the droids causing them to shut down. "Darn it!" Owen exclaimed. "It's over Owen.'' Rex said. "Oh is it?" Owen exclaimed in a voice that sent shivers down the trio's spine. Immediately after that speech, cannons started shooting at the trio, they avoided the cannons and kicked Owen in the face. "Grr, die!" Owen yelled transforming his body into a robot. "Whoa!" the trio said in unison. The robot started shooting lasers, one almost vaporized Rex. The trio put up a tough struggle but was no match for the giant robot, they all got hit to the ground but when they were going to be destroyed by the fist of the giant robot, Serene entered the warehouse. She charged up a energy blast and it destroyed Owen's robot suit. "I was wanting to be reunited with you ever since you left me for that freak, but now I'm having second thoughts!" Owen shouted while shooting Serene with a automated machine gun but was no match for Serene's speed and agility and she eventually pinned Owen on the wall. "Leave us alone or else..." Serene threatened. Owen escaped Serene's and ran away. "How did you do that?" Nate asked Serene. "I was born able to create energy blast with my body." Serene answered. "Guess we're not the only freaks!" Nate said. The next day, Rex was reading the papers and on the front page wrote, 'Inventor committed suicide'...

Final Stand No. 3 - Gameo

"Ryan! No!" Nate screamed as Ryan was thrown of a building. How did this happen? It all started when the trio set up their own gaming company, it started superbly, Nate had a brainwave to make a fighting game and they incorporated a few of Ryan's moves in it and it was a hit! But it was not to end there, they made a few other games with story lines based of their exciting adventures and soon, their company was one of the global sensations, their games smashed box office records and they even got more hits than the biggest video game company in the world, Gameo. They were jumping for joy but their happiness was short-lived.

The CEO of Gameo was infuriated, he wanted the trio's company, The Triple Threat to go down, he wished for their downfall, and so he used the company's money to hire the most dangerous gang in the world, they were equipped with the most modernized weapons and cost the CEO a fortune to hire. The next day the trio started working on their new game, ‘Dungeon Escape' a puzzle-solving game. When it was released, it smashed record after record and was often featured on the cover of newspapers and magazines. This only made the Gameo CEO angrier and angrier, until one day he finally blew his top, he sent out the gang to destroy The Triple Threat's company building.

When the trio was having a meeting suggesting new game ideas, "We should make a Role Playing Game!" suggested Ryan. "I has thinking more of a  Mystery solving game." Rex  said. "Let's start planning on the game." Nate told the others. Suddenly, the silence in the meeting room was shattered by the sound of a gunshot. Rex ran to the window to look at what happened when he saw the building's security guards on the ground, blood oozing out of their bodies. They ran down to take a look at what happened and they were greeted by the unfriendly sight of their building's cashier being robbed. "Stop right there, police is on their way as we speak!" Rex threatened the gang. Not only did they not attempt to escape, they charged towards them and knocked both Rex and Nate down with the butts of their guns and attacked Ryan who put up a tough struggle but in the end was no match for the pair of burly arms that encased him. He was brought to the roof of the building trapped in a shark net. When Rex and Nate climbed up the endless flights of stairs, they saw the strongest member of the gang holding the shark net with Ryan trapped inside, he shuddered at the thought of being thrown of the building and yelled for Rex and Nate to save him but before they could move a inch, the man threw Ryan of the building. "Ryan! No!" Nate screamed as Ryan was thrown of the building. "You'll pay for what you've done!" Nate exclaimed not unknowing of the fact that Ryan had fell into a pillow delivery truck.

"Die!" Nate yelled shooting his laser at the members of the gang. Suddenly, a bright flash of light appeared, it blinded the gang and when it faded,    his watch had evolved into a gauntlet that could shoot energy balls at will. The gang retreat upon seeing Nate's power but struggle to find the way down as they were still partially blinded by the bright flash of light. Nate and Rex walked downstairs and returned to the office feeling down in the dumps as they thought they had lost Ryan when suddenly he burst into the office, looking unharmed. Nate and Rex had their jaws wide open in disbelief. "But, how, you..." the usually very talkative Rex was stammering and was at a lost for words. "I'll tell you exactly what happened." Ryan said as he told the whole story to Nate and Rex. "Who is the cause of this, why would they want to rob our company building?" Rex asked Nate and Ryan. After discussion, they realized the only one who would do such a thing would be. "Gameo's CEO! I heard on the news that he was hopping mad to know that our company had beaten his!" Nate concluded. After the discussion, the trio stormed to the Gameo headquarters.

When they entered the CEO's office, the CEO was shocked by the sight of the boys. "Hello there, may I ask what you're here for?" the CEO said in a civilized manner. Irritated, Rex slammed the desk causing the papers on the desk to fly around the room. "You know jolly well why we're here, Mr. CEO!" he yelled. "If you're here for a fight, it's a fight you get!" the CEO said. "But let's take this outside." Upon saying that, they moved to a battlefield which was at the roof of the building. "Let's begin!" the CEO said in a gentlemanly voice. The three boys were no match for the CEO, named Benny. Everything thrown by the boys were either blocked or avoided by Benny. "You boys are pathetic!" Benny mocked the boys. "Freeze, police!" Suddenly the police force arrived at the scene. "Benny attempted to escape the policemen's grasp but to no avail. "Who called them! You'll pay for this!" Benny yelled at the top of his lungs. "Justice is finally served!" Nate told the rest. "How is a man like that so strong?" Rex thought, after research, he found out that the CEO is a ex-martial arts master and a ex-commando, knowing that, he heaved a sigh of relief and started thinking about "Why did such a powerful man become the CEO of a video game company?" he asked himself. Well this is one mystery that will never be solved... I think.

Final Stand No. 2 - The Eternal Winter

Years after the incident, the trio are much older and mature, but still as fit as ever. Rex Shane got a job as a shooting instructor, Ryan became a martial arts Sensei and Nate Matt decided to work at the office, but that does not mean they can't hang out, they take the weekends as their relax time and they usually chill together, but there was this once where the chill was literal..

It all started one Saturday, Rex Shane was heading to the usual hangout when he saw a bunch of frozen debris, "Don't remember this being here," he thought. "Maybe it's just some waste, whatever." When he got to the hangout, he told Nate and Ryan what he saw. "Let's go check it out now!" exclaimed Ryan energetically. When they returned, they saw not only the debris but also a few frozen animal carcasses. "This is getting weirder by the second," Nate said who was feeling spooked out, "this is even weirder than your personality Rex" "Let's just go!" Nate exclaimed. "Come on, stop being a scaredy cat" Rex said mocking Nate. "I just don't this is a good idea..." Nate replied. "I agree with Nate, this feels wrong." Ryan gives his say and agrees with Nate.
Before they could leave, they spotted a bunch of frozen people, they were moving!

"I knew this would be a bad idea!" Nate exclaimed as they started running, and the surprisingly fast frozen people started chasing. As they were running away, they saw a silhouette of a woman wearing a ballgown dress. "That was close!" Ryan said with heart pumping a thousand times per minute. "Did you guys see a woman when you were running away?" Rex asked curiously. "Yeah, why did the frozen people not go after her, she was a easier target." Nate replied. "What if she was the cause of it!" suggested Ryan. "Makes sense, let's go back tomorrow to find out." Rex insisted. "Fine." said Nate and Ryan reluctantly.

The next day, they met up at the place where they first saw the frozen creatures but to no avail. "Where did they go?!" Nate exclaimed. "Stop being paranoid, they must be here somewhere." Ryan said, attempting to calm Nate down. Suddenly, they were blown away by a gust of cold wind. "Ahh, help!" the trio exclaimed. "You thought I was going to be so predictable? Pathetic!" they heard a thundering voice say, this voice was loud yet sweet. They were then surrounded by a bunch of frozen people. "Time for meltdown!" Rex Shane shouted while shooting his laser melting the frozen people. "Not bad! But can you beat this!" the voice said, ice golems appeared immediately. Ryan used his martial arts skills to destroy the golems. "Grr, you beat that? Well it's time for the final test! Ha!!" the voice shouted out. A hailstorm started, they was something or someone in the distance."I am the ice witch," cried out the voice. "and you shall face my wrath!" As she finished her sentence, the hailstones hit the trio and fall to the floor, the witch started a snowstorm and froze the trio.

Still frozen, Nate Matt saw the witch play out her plan, she cast a spell putting the world in eternal winter, as the witch was using all of her strength, causing the ice around the trio to melt. When they started attacking the witch she exclaims "Too late, it's all over now!" Nate Matt and Rex Shane shoots their fusion laser ray which kills the witch but it does not reverse the spell. " Too bad, you only have 24 hours before the world is covered in ice and snow! The only way to reverse it is by scaling the Iceberg tower and read the spell, and you can never accomplish that feat! Bwah, hah hah!" the trio heard the voice say. "Let's go quick!" Rex exclaimed after the trio had gotten out of the ice.

The were at the bottom of The tower and looking at the height of The tower, Nate started whining, "Let's just leave, winter isn't that bad!" "We need to stop this winter and save the world!" Rex said in a convincing manner. As they started scaling the tower, they were stopped by a ice tyrant. "Ha, take this!" Nate and Rex said in unison, shooting a fusion laser at the beast, but the beast only got stronger. "It's absorbing our lasers!" Nate Matt exclaimed, the beast shot the laser back at the trio but the dodged. "Let's just run, it can't follow us up!" Nate suggested afar avoiding a ice blast, Upon saying that, they ran up to the next level where they were being shot by snowballs. "Easy peasy!" Ryan said but how wrong could he be, the snowballs were as hard as steel, they were gravely injured when they got to the next flight of stairs.

When they ran upstairs, they saw the spell book on a altar as if it were waiting for them, but to get there, they had to get past another ice tyrant but this time, it looks as though it were super-charged by lightning. "Uh oh!" Rex yelled as they tyrant used his hands to pick him up. "Help!" he screamed as the tyrant shot a beam from his eyes paralyzing Rex and while Nate and Ryan was trying to save Rex, they were paralyzed too. When the paralysis wore of, they charged for the spell book again, Rex distracted the tyrant, Nate and Ryan took the book and reversed the spell at the last second before the world was to be cast in eternal winter. "The tyrant vanished into thin air and peace was restored throughout the land The trio had saved the world yet again

The Final Stand No. 1 - Night Ring (Big Thanks to my friend, Faith Mah)

One afternoon, Nate Matt was walking home from school, still whining about his homework when he saw a couple of dead bodies, "Ahh!" he screamed in shocked, soon after he saw a flash of light. Curiously, he quietly crept to take a look, his face was ghastly pale when he saw a man wearing a hood killing people with a laser projected from his ring, he instinctively started to run away, blowing his cover, allowing the man to spot him. Nate Matt ran as fast as his legs could carry him, the man chased his heart out, it looked to be that Nate Matt was bound to escape when he tripped and fell, the man then caught up with him. "It's time for you to die!" the man exclaimed, just when Nate Matt thought it was all over, a gunshot was heard and the man ran away. Nate Matt was shocked by the happenings but got back to his senses when his best friend, Ryan, called out his name "Nate!"

The next day in school, Nate Matt was spacing out in class, instead of thinking about fractions and the human reproductive system, he was thinking about the man he saw the previous day. Instead of reading his textbook, he was doodling on a notepad of what the man would look like without the hood on. After school, he was walking home again when he saw something else strange, he saw a man wearing a cloak who reminded him of Obi Wan Kenobi from his favorite movie, Star Wars. The man walked up to him and  said in a deep voice, "Take this watch, use it to protect the world against evildoers like the menace that is Rex Shane..." After he finished, a bright flash of light appeared, Nate Matt closed his eyes to protect it from the light and when he opened them again, the man was gone. This left Nate Matt with more think about, "Who is Rex Shane? What does this watch do? And most importantly, how do you do the math homework assigned?"

That night Nate Matt could barely sleep a wink, he was troubled not only by the fact that he did not do his homework but also because of what happened earlier that day. He woke up with dark circles around his eyes but he was  determined to find out  who Rex Shane is, and what the watch can do, when he was on his way to school when a couple of disorientated humans started chasing him, he started fighting them, he was struggling and it was not  long before he was pinned down by them, and he was sure this was the end of him, he was trying to  escape the inevitable, it was then he knocked his watch on the ground and it projected a laser that disintegrated the disorientated humans. He was late for school and was punished for not doing his homework but he felt that nothing could be worse than what had just happened, oh how wrong could he be... That weekend Nate went to Ryan's to discuss about their school project, on the way back, he met up  with the man whom he saw killing people with his ring, "It's you again, little pest" the man exclaimed. "Who are you? Why are you doing this?" Nate Matt asked in a fear stricken voice. "Let me answer your questions, I'm Rex Shane and I'm doing this because of my terrible childhood, I was small and was always the target for bullies, I got pushed down and was used to help the bullies to do illegal things. Rage was building up inside of me, I hated life back then, but I knew one day it was all going to change, and it did the day I got possession of this ring, I could shoot lasers as and when I wanted. One day, I was pushed down by the bullies, enraged, I shot a laser at them, and they were disintegrated. After that incident, I knew there was no turning back, I used the ring to make others fear me, when they angered me I would shoot them, and recently I've even been thinking of world domination!" "You've taken this way too far, I'm stopping you right now." Nate Matt said while shooting a laser from his watch on Rex Shane's temple, knocking him unconscious. Just then a dart was shot on Nate Matt's neck, knocking him out too.

When both Rex Shane and Nate Matt regained consciousness, they were tied up in a abandoned warehouse, they saw someone walking towards them, holding pistols in his hands, "Awake I see, well I'm afraid your time's up, it's time to say goodbye" the 6 foot tall man exclaimed in a deep, evil voice while reloading his pistols, just when he was about to shoot, Ryan kicked down the door and shouted, "Eat bullets!" while shooting two automated machine guns at the man. "I'm wearing a bulletproof vest, what do you take me for, a fool, I'm dealing with two laser shooting freaks!" the man said in a annoyed manner. "Oh... well take my knuckle sandwich!" Ryan shouted while throwing himself at the man, the man returns the favor with a roundhouse kick to the face. As the fight was going on, Nate Matt and Rex Shane were using a pocketknife to cut the thick ropes apart but their efforts were put to waste when the pocketknife slipped out of their hands and out of reach. Meanwhile, Ryan was fighting a losing battle, the man knocked him down to the floor and was going to shoot him Ryan with a pistol but, because of his lightning fast reflexes, he kicked the gun out of the man's hand and made the move of kicking him in the crotch. Angered, the man knocked him down again and elbowed him, leaving him to struggle and he went to check on Rex and Nate, to his surprise he saw the ropes were gone and the the duo nowhere to be seen. When he turned around again, he was punched by the duo and was knocked out cold. When he came around he found himself in a prison cell and outside the cell he saw the three boys who, after the fight became friends. "How did you escape the re enforced ropes?" he asked. "That's not important, what is important is your fight has made me change from a crazy murderer to a public figure of friendship. Although I had to be imprisoned for 3 years, it was worth it, and it's not like I'm getting imprisoned forever like someone I know." Rex Shane said chuckling. "Who?" asked the man. "You of course!" said the trio in unison before breaking out in laughter.
